Denominational and Lay Leaders Retreat, Sudan

Denominational and Lay Leaders Retreat, Sudan

Sudan is currently navigating a pivotal transitional phase characterized by significant political instability and a devastating armed conflict that has persisted since April 2023. This tumultuous environment has led to widespread displacement and a severe institutional collapse, presenting the Sudanese Church with both formidable challenges and a distinct opportunity to respond with hope and a spirit of unity. In response to this situation, the Sudan Denominational Leaders Retreat has been organized for the second time, serving as a strategic platform to convene key leaders from various church denominations affiliated with the Sudan Council of Churches (SCC).

The Sudan Denominational and Lay Leaders Retreat is a three-day initiative designed to unite 20-25 church leaders amidst Sudan’s ongoing political instability and armed conflict. The retreat, organized for the second time, will provide a platform for leaders from various denominations under the Sudan Council of Churches to strengthen collaboration and develop practical skills for mission work and community transformation.

The objectives include fostering unity, enhancing the Church’s capacity to respond to crises, and building partnerships for sustainable ministry.

Expected outcomes include churches becoming safe havens for healing, empowered leaders driving community transformation, and strengthened partnerships that ensure a faith-based humanitarian presence in the face of ongoing challenges.

Your gift toward the $26,000 needed will help refresh and equip these leaders to stand firm, shepherd God’s people, and be instruments of Christ’s peace in a hurting nation.
