Humura Mugore Sewing Project: Celebrating Progress and Achievements

Over the past six months, women participating in the Humura Mugore sewing project have made encouraging progress in developing their tailoring and knitting skills. Through practical training, they have gained the ability to create a variety of garments and knitted items, laying a strong foundation for their future.

Students have learned to make different types of skirts, including skirts with back zippers, lined skirts, skirts with pockets, and skirts with elastic waistbands. They have also developed skills in making collared shirts, V-neck blouses, simple dresses, dresses with slits, and shorts with elastic waistbands.

Alongside tailoring, students have acquired knitting skills and learned to make a variety of items, including V-neck sweaters, hooded sweatshirts, round-neck sweaters, turtleneck sweaters, open-front sweaters, scarves, and hats.

These achievements reflect the students’ commitment, creativity, and growing confidence in applying their new skills.

During a visit on 10 October 2026, ALARM staff reviewed the progress made by the students after six months of training. The visit highlighted the practical skills they have acquired and the progress made in delivering the training.

ALARM celebrates the dedication and achievements of the Humura Mugore students as they continue developing their skills and building a foundation for greater opportunities.
