African Leadership and Reconciliation Ministries (ALARM) Tanzania has equipped more than 50 pastors, evangelists, and church leaders with practical skills to strengthen evangelism and promote peaceful relationships in predominantly Muslim communities.
The training took place from September 20–25, 2026, in Tanga Municipal through ALARM Tanzania’s Department of Servant Leadership. The initiative addressed challenges church leaders face when sharing the Gospel with friends, neighbors, coworkers, and schoolmates while maintaining peace and positive relationships with people from different religious backgrounds.

Strengthening Evangelism and Peacebuilding Skills
Over five days, participants explored key topics, including witnessing among Muslims, conflict resolution and peacebuilding, and making disciples. The sessions provided church leaders with strategies to communicate the Gospel more effectively while contributing to peaceful coexistence and reconciliation within their communities.
Through this initiative, ALARM Tanzania strengthened participants’ knowledge and capacity to engage with Muslim communities and share their faith with greater confidence and understanding. The training also emphasized the importance of building relationships that support peace and reconciliation alongside evangelism.
The project invited 60 participants, with attendance ranging from 40 to more than 50 during implementation. By investing in local church leaders, ALARM aims to strengthen their ability to serve their communities and carry out their ministry responsibilities more effectively.

Building on the Training for Lasting Impact
The training achieved its objective of equipping pastors, evangelists, Christians, and church leaders with improved skills and strategies for reaching Muslim communities. The next step is to support participants as they apply these skills in their respective communities and assess the longer-term outcomes of the initiative.
ALARM Tanzania plans to continue following up with participants to monitor progress and evaluate the results of the training. Evangelism remains an ongoing commitment, requiring continued engagement, leadership development, and community outreach.
Looking ahead, ALARM Tanzania plans to continue the program in Tanga Municipal in 2027, with follow-up activities and efforts toward planting new churches in the area.

Equipping Leaders, Transforming Communities
The initiative reflects ALARM’s commitment to servant leadership, biblical ministry, and reconciliation. By equipping local church leaders with practical skills, the organization seeks to strengthen their capacity to share the Gospel while contributing to more peaceful and connected communities.
Through continued investment in leadership development, ALARM Tanzania hopes to see the knowledge gained through the training translate into meaningful community engagement, stronger relationships, and lasting spiritual impact.
