In October 2024, something remarkable happened in Poka, Kajiado East. For the very first time, 52 women leaders from 17 churches gathered for a 3-day Gender, Equality, Reconciliation, and Partnership (GERP) training—empowered by ALARM Kenya and made possible through the generous support of the Vista Hermosa Foundation.

In a region where patriarchal traditions often silence women, these courageous leaders came together to learn, grow, and ignite change. Through interactive sessions on gender equity, biblical justice, leadership, and tackling harmful practices like FGM and early marriage, these women left the training not just informed—but transformed.
“We feel very powerful now,” one participant shared. “This is the first time we’ve ever gathered like this—and it won’t be the last.”
With your support, ALARM is not only challenging cultural norms but building networks of resilient, informed women leaders ready to take action. Plans are already underway for monthly fellowships, increased women’s representation in church leadership, and bold community advocacy to protect girls and elevate women.
“As pastors, we commit to ensuring our church committees now include women,” said Rev. Elijah, host pastor and vice chair of the Poka Pastors’ Committee.

This is the impact your giving makes—empowered leaders, united communities, and hope for future generations.
