Brenda Center Celebrates 18th Graduating Class with Certificates and Starter Kits

ALARM-Congo, through the Brenda Center, recently celebrated the graduation of 77 students from its nine-month tailoring and sewing program. The event brought together graduates, families, staff, local authorities, religious leaders, and partners, including the Richardson Rotary Club and Rotary Club Tumaini of Goma, who generously provided all starter kits for the graduates.

The ceremony combined faith, inspiration, and celebration. Graduates participated in prayers, worship, and a sermon by Reverend Safari Maboko, who encouraged them to use their skills to become agents of change in their communities.

Key moments included:

  • Graduate speech: Expressing gratitude to ALARM, trainers, and partners.
  • Guest remarks: Encouraging graduates to embrace technology, sustainable practices, and community engagement.
  • Starter kit distribution: Equipping graduates with tools to launch businesses and foster economic independence.

The event highlighted ALARM-Congo’s commitment to community transformation, social cohesion, and empowerment. As the next class of 105 students begins their training, scholarships remain crucial to ensure they complete the program.

Through partnerships and community support, ALARM-Congo continues to equip the next generation of change-makers, bringing hope and opportunity to North Kivu.
