We want to thank God that through Rise Up Women International, Alarm Rwanda has taken 32 women in the economic empowerment program through conferences with sweet topics since the program started. The topic includes: Introduction to entrepreneurship, starting an income-generating activity, saving, microbusiness management, and cooperatives.
We want to thank Rise Up Women International again for providing start-up capital to needy women, enabling them to begin small income-generating activities and support their families in general. For the third session, after visiting all women’s businesses, with support from the Rise Up Women International donation, we provided with start -up capital to seven needy women to enable them to start small businesses.
Achievements Testimonies
These are some of the achievements and testimonies from women who were trained and given the start-up capital.

UMUBYEYI Flancine, a member of the Alarm Rwanda Women Economic Empowerment group, testifies about how training and start-up capital have helped her increase sales and profits.

I want to thank ALARM Rwanda and Rise Women International. Through the start-up capital I received, I was able to go to the hospital, meet the doctor, have my head scanned, and receive a diagnosis for my illness, along with medication. I am very grateful that I am now selling shoes, which has allowed me to send my two children to secondary school, provide for them, and pay rent for my home. My prayer request is to increase the capital and have a wider variety of shoes to sell. This will enhance my benefits and enable me to meet my family’s needs.

- Prayer request
According to the current government regulations regarding faith-based organizations, it is suggested that all faith-based organizations and churches take part and get involved in the local government action plan for the socio-economic transformation of citizens and all people in the country. The effort made by Alarm to train and empower women economically has been saluted by the local government authority, and they suggest that Alarm reach many needy people by training them and empowering them economically, and provide them with small start-up capital if possible. It is for the above reason that we would like to request the remaining funds of $2,274 from women’s economic empowerment.
We were able to support seven women with small start-up capital between 50 and 150 thousand Rwanda francs each.
- We want to reach the 25 women remaining by training and following up with them, and providing small start-up capital for the neediest women in the group.
- We want to make a follow-up on not only the women’s economic empowerment group in Kigali, but also, we are planning to reach out to women leadership training institute program beneficiaries all over the western region and the Northern region to train and strengthen their efforts toward economic transformation and self-reliance.
