Conferences

From the beginning, ALARM has used conferences to train African leaders in reconciliation and forgiveness. Recognizing the vast need for such training in countries that have been torn apart through ethnic and tribal conflict, ALARM staff continue to provide sound, biblical teaching for a wide variety of groups. Conferences may bring together pastors, government leaders, youth, or even former prisoners. Other strategic groups may be women leaders, local professionals, teachers, or combinations of all the above.
In addition to conferences on reconciliation, peacemaking, forgiveness, and human rights, ALARM often provides special training on marriage and family issues, trauma healing, or similar topics. International teams frequently assist in such conferences, generously sharing their expertise in partnership with ALARM staff.

Women's Conferences
ALARM’s women’s conferences address the unique needs of women in the countries we serve. The women receive sound instruction on topics ranging from Christian spirituality and personal Bible study to HIV awareness, marriage, and financial management.
Many African women would never openly discuss such topics in the presence of men, so the women’s conferences are always led by other women. These gatherings enable the women to share their stories, encourage one another, and learn in a supportive environment.
