African Women's Initiatives
As a ministry of ALARM, AWI exists to empower African women by undergirding their initiatives toward leadership, economic development, and self-sufficiency. AWI offers formal and informal education, entrepreneurial training, technical expertise, capital investment, and micro-finance loans or grants.

AWI accomplishes many of its goals through the assistance of American partners. Working with AWI coordinators in Africa, teams of women from the U.S. often provide the training and other resources needed to empower these African women. Blessings flow in both directions as we work together in this life-giving ministry.
Micro-Business Projects
Can lives really be changed through $10 loans? By God’s grace, the answer is Yes.
As part of ALARM’s African Women’s Initiatives, women are being empowered to develop small businesses, through which they are finding hope and caring for their families. The women are trained in topics like financial management, biblical stewardship, and market analysis. They draw up business plans. Some are taught a new trade. Then, through loans as small as $10, they get to work.
Meeting regularly with one another and with their mentors, the women begin to see the fruit of their labor. They pay their rent, send their children to school, repay their loans, and even hire employees. A broad space is opened into a new future.
